So, this guy named Joe Hill wrote a book, titled Horns. It is about a guy in a small town, suspected of brutally killing his girlfriend. He wakes up one morning to find he has devil-horns on his head, and some special powers, and he sets about trying to find out what happened the night of his girlfriend's death.

It happens that Joe Hill was born Joseph Hillstrom King. He's the son of famed horror writer Stephen King, and he has a lot of his father's talent. The book is excellent.

And the movie stars Daniel Radcliffe, and opens... on Halloween! If I were not going to go see Jeffery Combs in a one-man play as Edgar Allen Poe that night, I'd be out to see this movie.

I enjoyed the book. I doubt I'll see it on Halloween but I do want to see the movie.

I wasn't interested in the film until I learn it was Joe Hill who wrote the book. He wrote the very good Locke & Key graphic novel.

In the book, it is lightly more nuanced than that. We will see how it is portrayed in the movie.
