House Rule for non-lethal damage

Hmmmm...

The above is a good idea, but probably no fun for players with weak characters. Perhaps all hits do 1 point + Str modifier. That way you are too weak to inflict damage when you actually are weak (9 or less).

Or simply rule that all attacks deal a minimum of 1 dmg. It is somewhat mentioned with weak beasts (like rats and such), where they do 1d3-1 damage, minimum 1...

I was considering a different and in many ways simpler tweak to non-leathal rules. Basically, I'd keep the rules as presented in the book, but change it so that you don't need to do CON damage in non-leathal in a single hit, but in a round. At a character's initiative, their non-leathal damage gets re-set, but if any time before then, they take non-leathal damage equal to or greater than their CON, they have to check for knockout as in the rules.

This way it simulates that someone with multiple attacks in a round can knock someone out, without needing the brawl feats, or having a lucky critical. Also, multiple attackers can beat someone down non-leathally.

Just to throw some reality ion the mix, there's no such thing as non-lethal damage in the real world. Everything is a degree of real damage, no matter what the games would like to be true. Things like boxing gloves serve to reduce the real damage a blow does. Even thought the game is heroic fantasy, perhaps this is worth considering when tweaking the rules?
