house rules for being intoxicated

First Post
Hey all,

I am currently DMing a Savage Tide campaign and one of my players has a character who has a bit of a drinking problem.

I was wondering if anyone out there has come up with some house rules for drinking, being drunk, hung over, etc. It might be fun to add some modifiers to his condition for when his halfling rogue spends a night in the taverns along the dockside :)

Any ideas?

Traps and treachery has a nice rule for alcohol and alcohol poisoning. We revised it a bit for our campaign.

I don't remember our exact rule off the top of my head but failed saves converted to Dex damage, with a secondary of unconsciousness. I believe our base save DC was 12.

Save DC's increase by one per unit of alcohol drank in the last hour (DM decides how many units are in a drink. A glass of wine has one, as a baseline), including the current drink.

Saves that fail by more than 10 go into extreme alcohol poisoning, doing Dex and Con damage with a secondary of unconsciousness. All further drinks past this point count as extreme alocohol poisoning until it's flushed from the system.

He could die by these rules, but the odds are slim for a heathy character.
