D&D 5E How Big Do You Like To Party?

In most of my games, there are at least two PCs per player (one main, one backup). My player pool is anywhere from 8 to 10 players, but only 5 players allowed at any given session, with a quorum of four.

On average, there's an NPC with the PCs maybe every other session for one reason or another. They don't typically participate in combat.

I will flat out refuse to play in games that have more than 5 players and characters at a time.

4-5 PCs is best to me.

I like 6 PCs too be then no feats, no familiars/companions, no homebrew gear..

For tabletop play, I have a typical - 4, 5, or 6. I've tried larger games multiple times, but I find most games bog down when the group gets notably larger than 6 players.
