How did you come to EN World?

I fall outside the bounds of the survey, but I'm going to answer anyway cause I missed this thread the last time through.

I made the jump over to Enworld when the Wizards board converted to Gleemax. The new forums wouldn't allow me to post at all, and once I saw how much more... sane(?) the community was over here, I was hooked.

I was using an adventure generator at a site called Flat Earth Games on a near daily basis (I had just moved to a new country so a lot of my free time was spent designing stuff for my D&D games) back in 1999 and it had a link to a site to discuss the forthcoming Third Edition. I actually joined the very first board - under a different user name - and have more or less lurked ever since.

I met Eridanis on a train while I was working on a first level character. We talked about D&D a bit and he suggested I come here. I did and then proceeded to lurk for far too long. I don't remember what it was that convinced me to finally start posting though.

I started near day one after it was announced on the original Gaming Report site that you could find 3e rumors here. I then trolled the boards for nearly 3-4 years before becoming active.

He told us about that story. That was you, eh? That's such a cool way to get here!

I'd come across you pretty regularly when I was googling for information or other people's takes on one subject or another. I'd been over at the WotC forums briefly, and didn't like the tone of some of the threads, or some of the flamewars. The Gleemax forums weren't an improvement. Then I saw the news that you'd been hacked and were looking for help in rebuilding. I realized that I'd gotten quite a bit of enjoyment and information over the years, and decided that this was a resource I wanted to see stick around. I made my donation shortly after.

I'll probably go back to mostly lurking now.

I'm not relevant (thanks Morrus!) but I started coming here to find out about this newfangled 3rd Edition game that was announced at the one and only Gen Con I've attended (so far. Maybe I'll go next year, for 5e.)

It's also possible that I was already here, and the internet simply formed around me.
