How did you find EN World?

How long ago it was. :D

It all started from the wizard site a year before 3rd edtion came out, saw referance to Eric's site, this was after the 'big announcement at GenCon', I visited and found 'community', this was a big deal, the other web sites were full of flame wars and trolls and it was nice to find. From Eric's site I have continued to follow.

In the summer of 2001, I did google searches for D&D-related sites and forums. These searches eventually led me to Gamespy's RPG planet and "Eric Noah's Unofficial D&D 3rd Edition News". Soon, I found a link to the ENWorld forums.

It's weird to think that I'll have been an ENWorld poster for three years this summer. Time flies!

I can't recall exactly. It was either one of the old newsgroups, either on TSR/WotC news server -- now defunct -- or my ISP news server (the more common newsgroup is 'rec.games.frp.dnd'). Then again, it could be that I was searching for 3e news scoops through search engines or one of the RPG news sites, that I came across "Eric Noah's Third Edition D&D News" web site.

From a fansite for an unrelated game. I'm a member of the dumpshock community (site for fans of Shadowrun). Someone mentioned the new edition and posted something abour Eric. I did a followup search using google on Eric and found his site, which I bookmarked but rarely visited (I wasn't so interested in 3e at that point).

Then I purchased the books and, after seeing the first of the lord of the rings movies, got an urge to run a fantasy game again. When I came back here I found ENworld. I've been lurking and posting ever since.

I started lurking back when Eric opened the site, just prior to 3E coming out. I was looking for information on the upcoming edition, and used to come to the site for news almost everyday.

Now... I'm on the boards almost everyday to play Mutants and Masterminds. :D

When I first heard about the proposed 3rd edition of D&D I did some googling and came across Eric Noah's site. I've been a dedicated lurker ever since...

I heard about it in a newsletter that came with membership in Bugaboo's DM Friends Network -- before it went belly-up when the business owner was sued into bankruptcy. Finding this place has been one of the few positive benefits of that scam.
