How did you find EN World?

I'd checked out Eric's site a few times before the release of 3rd edition, but I didn't find my way here permanently until I was searching for submission details for D20 publishers.

I found natural 20's guidelines, then got lured onto the boards by the wiley questions of Rangerwickett (which, from memory, was something like: "What name do you use on the boards...")

Huh... it was too long ago, I can't quite remember. Probably, I googled for "3e d&d" while looking for rumors on this new edition thingy. :D

Same here, although I think it was Yahoo. I don't think I was aware of google back then.

I think I came across ENWorld shortly after I first started playing 3rd edition: I'd been out of roleplaying since the early 90s but got back into it as a newlywed in 2000; our group played an experimental campaign in early 2001 and I was looking for information on these "Prestige Class" things.

However, it was just one of a bunch of sites I visited.

What brought me back to stay was when I first started seriously GMing 3rd Edition in late 2001/early 2002, and I wanted to run a version of UK 5, The Eye of The Serpent. ENWorld got my attention and a place in my bookmarks because of the conversion library and Creature Catalogue stuff. I discovered the message boards shortly afterwards, and have been posting occasionally since about June of that year.

Before the release of 3e, I found a link to Eric Noah's site while looking for information on Neverwinter Nights on one of the RPG Planet sites.

Ah... a long, long time ago, in a community far, far away...

When I first looked at the title of this thread, I thought to myself, " Too long ago for me to remember. " However, after I saw Talinthas post, the memory clicked. I'm pretty sure I was directed to Eric Noah's by somebody while chatting on the Wizards web site, a number of months before 3e was released. Not sure exactly, but I think it was a fair while.

Ah, Wizards Com.munity... I don't go back there much anymore, a shame really. Thing is, it's easier just to log on to mIRC and chat in #dnd3e. And besides, a lot of the same people from Wizards are there too, hehehe... If only Tank were accessible from mIRC... oh well...

A friend emailed me the link, and I've been a regular pretty much ever since. That was pre-3e's release, so I can't rmember exactly when that was. Early 2000?

I found this site either shortly before or shortly after 3rd edition came out in 2000. To be honest, I can't recall from where I got the link, I think it was from RPGplanet.com

Edit: As it obvious, though, I didn't sign up for the forums till quite a long while after that. Wasn't much of a message board person, never even bothered to read it, I figured it'd be worse than the WOTC forums.

My appearance here is slightly different. For one, I'm not actually familiar with Eric's site at all. I don't really read it... just this forum.

Someone was reading Lady Despina's Virtue, Sep's story hour, and sent me a doc file with the then compilation thereof. It hooked me, and I wanted to know where to see the original, where updates would show up. Link was given, and here I am.
