I am pretty much in the same boat...have stopped playing 3rd ed for awhile. Its been a few months and I am spending more time with the kids on Sat. as I am not playing all day, reading more often, etc. It is a somewhat refreshing break.
Though I am lucky in that a friend is running an Amber PBEM game, one turn a month, that is a blast. I am also getting back into playing Warhammer 40k...a hobby that has much more time and money involved in it than D&D ever will.
I hope to get back into 3rd ed but have at the same time found that if I don't its no big deal. Than again I'm 33 and have been gaming since I was 10...maybe I'm hitting my mid-life crisis (if so it ain't that bad...like I said, I still have other gaming hobbies keeping me active).
