How do I pick up an item in an opponents square

How would a rogue with a good tumble pick up a weapon that had recently been disarmed from an opponent.

The rules put the recently disarmed weapon in the square with of the opponent, so is there some way to tumble in and pick up the weapon? Tumble mostly talks of moving through the space, but the rogue would need to move before and after picking up the item. He cannot stay in the occupied square, I don't think. Would this require Spring Attack or something? That seems like overkill to me, though.

I wouldn't have a problem with picking something up as part of a move action, if it was of a handy size. It would still provoke an AoO, though (and no Tumbling to get out of this one).

That would let you sunder it, but not pick it up.

I'd make up a rule on the fly (probably to hit roll and strength check) if they wanted to use their weapon to bat the enemy's weapon away. Not sure if I'd make it provoke, but right now I'm leaning towards yes. Partially because you have to concentrate on the weapon instead of them, and partly because picking it up would normally provoke, and I wouldn't want this to become a better option.

Very carefully?

:p

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'd allow it as normal. You provoke an AoO for doing it, though, and you'd have to be in an adjacent square. You can obviously reach into the opponent's square to punch him, so you can reach in to grab something.

Good one.

Surely it would only provoke (an AoO) if you were not using a reach weapon?
