How do you ease girlfriend into gaming?

Boyfriend comes over. I'm in a mad rush to finish my new character. New character is the most high maintenance of all classes -- Druid. I bascially exhaust myself writing out spell cards and he was helping me by looking up feats in my splatbook collection. We ended up being too tired to do anything but SLEEP a whole lot. (But boy do I have an awesome druid now!) :heh:

LOL - That's awesome. Sounds like my ex. She would spend hours and hours on her character. I would come home to her working on it (she got home an hour or so before me each night). As we ate dinner she'd work on it. We'd finish dinner, watch TV, have desert and then get changed for bed and she's working on it. Finally, as I snuggle into the sheets I see her in the doorway holding her character sheet.

"I'm done. We can play now."

For my fiance, the Temple of Elemental Evil computer RPG (set in Greyhawk, classic dungeon crawl feel, 3e turn-based rules) was a good intro.

Knights of the Old Republic Star Wars game also used authentic 3e-type d20 Star Wars rules.

I'm not sure if there's another CRPG using the "real stuff" (or close) out there. DDO doesn't, for instance. :]

I heard getting them drunk helps...

Oh wait that's something else entirely and highly inappropriate! My bad!
Weird, I always heard name dropping "Orlando Bloom" usually helps.

Uh, for role-playing, not....the other thing. ;)

Of course I know my own girl!

She's the blonde one with huuuuuuge ... tracts of land. :p :D
And yet you still want to bring her to our game? And expect everyone to behave?

I thought you liked this girl...
