How do *you* find new players/DM?

beware

no seriously.

beware.

the game i am currently running was gotten together from the internet. only two of the players knew each other before we got it all underway.

all in all it has been a great experience. there are five players and i genuinely enjoy and like all of them but one. i have become friends with four of the five.

but be careful. sometimes you get a nut. i got me a nut.

little does he know, tonight is his last game with us....:D

Ah. Which part of Austria is this club located at?

Hong "from small-town Sydney" Ooi

Adelaide I'm afraid. Another good place to find RPG clubs is in universities - I'm the librarian for the club here, and the other uni in town has a sci-fi club that included gaming. (And our gaming club is about to eat the sci-fi club)

Oddly enough, I found the crew for my latest campaign at a Live-Action game. My original group had gotten into the Vampire thing, and over the years we heard about LARPing. It seemed really geeky at first, but we went and tried it out and sure enough, we found the addiction after a few sessions.

Realize that in these games of forty or fifty players, you'll find a wide range of styles and calibre of players. And most everyone there has or still is playing Dungeons & Dragons, White Wolf, or all sorts of varied games. My suggestion, get to know the people, find ones you can get along with, and try to start up some campaign. It doesn't take too long to figure out who's after a fun game and whom you would never want to sit at your dining room table.

Not to mention, you might actually enjoy Larping, if they do that in Kansas. They do in North Carolina... =)

Not sure if I should ask, but....... What are you planning?

the fates were with me this evening.

his character met a untimely end. the dice hated him, and loved me. his character died in a massive melee.

now that there is closure, i will simply send him an email telling him how it is just not working out. his gaming ideas and the rest of the players do not match at all.

thusly, he has to go.
