Hello UK :) I havent seen you around that much, I trust you've been well?

Actually I was a bit sick last week, but I'm generally around less because I am trying to juggle a 'part time' 30+ hour per week job with my writing commitments...and it ain't easy...not that I was the fastest writer to begin with anyway. :o

Still, the new book should surface around the end of next month - fingers crossed.

Thanks for the advice; I fugured that you would have something to say on the matter. The HD ratios tied to physiognomy is interesting. I also like the Construct HD tied to caster level; that's pretty ok.

Happy to help.

Honestly, I probably would've put Demogorgon higher than that, at least equal in power to a greater deity. But, that's neither here nor there.

That conversion was based on 1st Edition Demogorgon who was effectively a Lesser Power (on his home plane anyway).

I also have a Greater God version of Orcus on my website...although that was for the conversion of Throne of Bloodstone (more akin to a reimagining if truth be told) where I wanted to see what a 100th-level Adventure might be like for 3rd Edition.

I definately understand that at 52 HD, this particular balor is exceedingly powerful, and not the norm at all.

Well you don't necessarily have to link HD and size for Outsiders, but I do think its a good idea to link divinity and Hit Dice for (intelligent) Outsiders.

Its probably an oversimplification (for a realm of chaos) but I think the following works well:

15 HD = Demonic Champion
20 HD = Demon Lord
30 HD = Demon Prince
40 HD = Demon Monarch
60 HD = Demonic Emperor (Queen of Chaos before her fall)
80 HD = Nether Emperor (Nerull as per the Gord the Rogue books where he was effectively the boss of all the lower planes except for the Abyss)
