How do you organize large quantities of minis

yikes! how many minis do you people have??

I started off in 1977 with a Ral Partha High Elf w/longspear Human Fighter w/sword + shield, and a Cold Drake w/feathered wings, and small sets of zombies, rats and centipedes from Heritage.

Apparently, minis have the same breeding characteristics as bunnies.

Boxed sets from Grenadier quickly followed, and the floodgates opened.

I now have I don't know how many thousands of minis. The metal ones outweigh me a couple of times over (I currently weigh 260lbs) and almost qualify as a home weightlifting set.

The plasticrack doesn't have the same kind of mass, but probably have the equivalent volume.

metal figs get foam lined cases. [instructions in sig].

Pre painted Plastic figs get tossed into a small cardboard box with a flap that can close. Each box gets a highly visible label. I'm making some new labels ATM, so here is a PDF of the newer labels.

I haven't catalogued the last order I bought but I'm somewhere between 1800 and 2000 D&D prepainted minis.

Unpainted metal Reaper minis would account for about another 50.

And that's without going in to my Blood Bowl and Necromunda collection.

I have got approximately 3300 D&D miniatures. I am organizing them in 60-65 paper boxes 20x20x4 cm3 and 20x20x8 cm3. The huge miniatures are in 3 20x40x16 cm3 boxes.
The labels I am using are:
