Nothing better than an heroic TPK while fighting an powerfull enemy

Well I am going to run my game to its natural conclusion, weather that is in 6 months or not. From the get go, I set up a save the world or the multi-verse ends scenario so its going to end pretty epic. If they fail, I relaunch in 4th edition, if they don't then the multi-verse is shook up by the effects of the game and it will evolve into 4th edition.

If I had to end my games, an epic battle would probably be the way to go. However, when you're half way through Age of Worms and Shackled City, Red Hand of Doom, and started in Rise of the Runelords, I just don't see all these games ending just for the sake of the new 4e system. So, no I don't think my games will end. Doesn't mean something 4e won't start up as well, but the 3.5e games will continue, and I have my reservations about whether the gaming group is interested in 4e.

My campaign is hitting it's 16th year this summer. It spanned 2e to 3e to 3.5e, but we aren't making the jump to 4e; the heroes are too powerful at this point. So we're naturally drawing to a close, and I'll be starting a new campaign later next year.

The trick, I think, is whacking myself in the head with a hammer every time I think "Just ONE more sub-plot!" I'm great at starting new plots, but, umm, I have a little trouble closing them down for good. Maybe. Twitch.

I have some fun plans for the 4e campaign, though.

1. My Wilderlands campaign - currently at 10th level - was planned for a "big revelation that changes everything" around level 12-14 anyhow. So we're gonna play it until Day X - and then I ask the players.

2. My DCC/Áereth campaign will probably end somehow...
