In game almost always first person, but out-of-game (i.e. when we are not playing and telling a war story aor discussing the campaign I always use third person).

Actually, I friend of mine always uses first person even when re-telling his character's action when we are no in the middle of playing and often it makes me feel uncomfortable.

I think the question, at which point does identifying with your character become creepy and not just good role-playing and being into the game?

For some reason I tend to use first person when describing physical actions and third person when describing mental states. I don't always hold to this when there is mostly dialogue between characters but it's sort of my default tone. I think it stems from the idea of trying to clarify what I as a player am thinking from what my character is thinking (I sometimes have the habit of wondering aloud to myself...). With physical actions this does not come up since when I say "I cleave the orc's body in two" it's pretty obvious that I mean the character, as I likely don't have any orcs handy round the gaming table.
