How do you scare your PCs?

I have used a lot of Kodo's stuff over the years, and especially in that campaign, but the primary one, the one that got them moving was "The Hunted," available on Tataku (Best of 1994-99), Ibuki, Sai-So
(Remix album, 2 versions- 1 by Bill Laswell, 1 by Strobe) and, of course The Hunted Soundtrack. The soundtrack in particular is more driving than most of Kodo's work, given its purpose.

Well, I've been told I have an evil grin and an evil chuckle. And that was from a co-worker who doesn't play RPGs, though by this time maybe my players are just taking it as a given.

....( runs away howling and clutching head in agony )

I play usually DM but play a mime in a game once a month...i think it scares the DM instead!

Hit 'em where it hurts

With my group, anything that does Charisma damage has them shaking :p . Hits points? pffft! But heaven forfend the hair gets mussed.

1) In d20 Modern: I had a villian drink a potion of invisibility and plant a note on a PC saying:

"Isn't it scary to be in the same room with an invisible guy with a knife?

-- An invisible guy with a knife
"

That's great ! :)

Any time I spend a lot of time describing something, it scares the PCs. They figure anything that merits a lot of description could be "life or death". Anything that only gets a few words, they don't worry about.
