How do you simulate Martial Arts like those in "The Condor Heroes"?

What I'm referring to are characters like Yang Guo, for instance. He learns almost every skill in the book, and then comes up with his own super skill. Short of being epic level... or should he just be epic level?

That, by defininition, is epic level.

When a wizards knows every spell, and has to start making their own, they are epic.

He's a high level guy with lots of Knowledge (Martial Lore) ranks, and whose DM let him design his own maneuvers. Silly DM!

For most practical purposes, Bo9S + magic items is close enough. For closely-detailed simulation, I recommend HERO.

There was a thread a while back about a new Monk variant based on the warlock. Let me see if I can find it . . . here it is:

Choosing the right mantras, strikes, etc could easily mimic many if not most mythic monk styles. If not, you could probably create a new mantra of the appropriate level to wing it.
