It may be the paints I am using, but nail polish remover (can takes longer then those suggested and needs brush) works fine. Also always have nail remover around.... brake fluid and some of the others I am not so sure about handling and getting, in which case I would simply opt for buying a new one.

I've had good luck with EZ Off Oven Cleaner. Put your mini in a box or on newspaper or something. Liberally cover said mini and leave for a few hours. Wearing rubber gloves, take a toothbrush you don't use anymore and brush the paint off under warm water. Repeat as necessary. A little messy but it's worked for me. I've even taken off enamel paint that's been on minis for YEARS.

Any generic mineral spirits from your local hardware store. Should be in a can marked, uhmmm, mineral sprits.

Soak for 15 minutes or so and brush with that toothbrush or what all. Rinse, and all is good.

BonusQ? Why all the trtouble again with acrylics? They are magically erasable by water when fresh.

I use Simple Green to strip minis. Just put some in a jar drop the minis in and leave them therer for about a day. I've used it on minis that I've painted using craft paints and on minis I bought off ebay that were painted using who know what. Simple Green worked fine every time. Plus the stuff is non-toxic.

Since the mini is metal

Acetone [nail polish remover]
Brake fluid
Pine sol
Simple Green

Should all work. Soak for 2 days, then scrub with an old toothbrush.

If you do this, be certain to do it in a well ventilated area. I've heard this usually does a very good job. However, it's about the most dangerous method listed here.

Personally, I use Pine-sol and have had little problems. I had one figure for years (decades, even) that I tried many things to get the paint off. Pine-sol did it with very little paint remaing

Plastic Mini: UHOHS
Metal Minis: Non Acetone nail polish remover... immerse.... leave, pick out with tweesers and brush with anything, repeat.
