How does Web work?

First Post
Hi, last friday's session we came up with a question as to how the web spell works.
Whe you succeed your initial save, you have to make strenght checks to move through the web. The spell says you can move 5 ft for every full 5 points by which the check exceeds 10.
As I understand it you have to make 15 or more on your check to advance 5 ft, 20 or more to advance 10 ft, ...
But some other players think you advance 5 if you make 11-15, 10 if you make 16-20, ...
Since none of us are native English speakers, we didn't really press the matter and the DM eventually picked the first option. But for future reference: did we pick the right one?
(I believe we did.)
Thanks.

From the SRD:

The creature moves 5 feet for each full 5 points by which the check result exceeds 10.

"Full 5 points" is the important phrase... this means you need at least 5 points to qualify, not some fraction of it.

A check of 15-19 moves 5 feet.
A check of 20-24 moves 10 feet.
And so forth.
