I saw that. Sorry it didn't work out, but I did find the level of response very encouraging as work was going on for the official Stargate SG-1 RPG

So far, the sample info on the official website has me quite stoked since it seems like the writers know what they're doing, esp. with the variety of situations described for using the DHD.
Don Mappin is a prince among geeks

Also looking forward to the "season books" which is an excellent idea expecially since it would allow "new crunch" to be added into the campaign if a certain timeline is followed.
Those will be very cool, though I'm looking forward to the System Lords book even more - MGM have given us permission to establish some new elements of the SG-1 canon...

Hey, how about including a poster that outlines the symbols on the DHD? This way, sadistic DMs can make their players actually dial their way home...![]()
That's a neat idea, though we're already pretty busy managing 400 full color page in the first volume. I'm pretty sure we do have pictures of all the common glyphes in the book. A poster could be fun in a boxed-set though...
Since it was mentioned that the book might be available by Gencon, does that mean we can expect them in store around that time?
Probably not right then. I'm guessing about 4-6 weeks later. One more reason to come to the show

One thing I'm looking forward is to see how the rules will resolve the "Zat" issue and it's one-shot-incapacitate/two-shot-insta-kill effect that might make it an uber-weapon.
Hehh. That was defintitely an interesting bit to write. I can summ up pretty easily if you're acquainted with Spycraft: Takedown (with a long period of unconciousness instead of being knocked prone) - Coup de Grace - Disintegrate, in that order. Those things are *highly* dangerous if you are in a murderous mood...
Finally, will there be suggestions for GMs on how to convince players to actually call another player "sir"?(the BIGGEST obstacle in my mind
)
Yes. One person WILL be put in charge by the SGC on missions, and doing as that person says can grant you bonuses, and being insubordinate will present some penalties. ...'Course there's a feat which lets you be an ornery cuss and not take penalties...
