How has the 4e/3e schism affected you?

Either way, it's better than having him moping and brooding and not having fun.

I'd refrained from mentioning it thus far, but I heard of a physical altercation locally (i.e., where I live) that stemmed from a 3x versus 4e dispute. :(

My group will basically play whatever rules I put in front of them, so no one has really done more than express a mild to middling curiosity about "the changes".

I have one player who probably follows it , may have even picked up the 4E PHB by now. . . We haven't talked about it. Lately we've been on this M:TG jones. . .

I've not seen any RL drama over it.

My RL group is sticking with 3.5 and has no plans whatsoever (at this point) to move to 4th edition.

The only real issue has been with one person who wants to run a D&D campaign; he wanted to run 3e and many of us wanted to play 4e. Has has decided to run 4e.

Myself, I have switched and am not looking back so if I run D&D, it will be 4e. Although I do plan to do some Pathfinder testing if I can ever afford the ink to print the thing out.

That wasn't me versus BryonD by any chance, was it?

Wis

P.S. He kicked my ass. Dammit.

Let's see, my main group had a few laughs last week at all the nerd-rage flying flying around the aether, and then.... nothing.

I'm going to continue running my longtime 3.5/AE campaign, one of players is going to start a 4e campaign in the fall, and another, who'd given up DM'ing D&D, is also interested in running 4e.

Oh, and an old group of my friends who'd dropped out of P&P RPG play for a while are all interested in me running a 4e campaign for them. They're jazzed by the new rules.

So for me: mo' editions, no problems.

May I humbly request a link?

Thanks, -- N

There is no link. I do actually get out of my house long enough to talk to people in real life! From what I was told, two guys were having a heated argument IRL about the merits and flaws of D&D 4e, one of them called the other a name, and the other responded with his fist.

Of course, we're talking about a town where another guy got into a physical altercation about the correct pronunciation of "drow" at the FLGS, too (dude assaulted the store manager when he was asked to leave the store following the a loud, unfriendly, argument about said pronunciation) :(

Oh well, no rubbernecking for me. :(

Those fools. Everyone knows it's pronounced like "bow".
