How Has the Internet Changed the Way You Game?

I would say that a bit of the surprise and wonder has been lost. I've often said that if the internet had been around when Empire Strikes Back was released, it would've been everywhere that Darth Vader was Luke's father.
Dude! Label your spoilers!

I think the biggest impact the internet has had on my gaming is the access to the massive community of gamers, ENWorld in particular. I've also worked on campaign world development with a friend almost entirely over the net, so much so that the resources are now only available online. Now that I've moved to a small farming community I feel the internet's influence even more. I now buy exclusively online as my FLGS is not so local anymore and my only actual gaming is done in Play by Post games.

Big fan of the internet, couldn't play without it right now.

Face-to-face games

My game has its own little messageboard. I use the board to arrange and confirm sessions, handle some aspects of play (for example, when the player characters go shopping in a town between sessions, they can simply post a list of the equipment they want to purchase and I'll handle it later.) I also use the messageboard to track experience point totals and there's a campaign journal up there. Oh yes, and maps, and handouts, and copies of the character sheets, and game background material are all posted there in case anyone wants to read up between sessions.

Aside from that I also use the internet to obtain adventures and to share rules and viewpoints with other DMs.

Play by post games

I do a fair bit of this, obviously it wouldn't exist without the net.

I still play the game the same way I always have, but I have more options in what I utilize thanks to the 'net. For instance, instead of relying on LGS's for all my gaming information, which was ususally false, I now have access to nearly every company's personal websites for release dates. The amount of stuff I've yoinked from the net to add to my games has made them more interesting and vibrant than they were before when I was simply making it all up myself. Plus, I have a much larger library of titles thanks to online gaming shops that sell all the newest titles usually at discounted rates rather than hoping I could get a book from my LGS (and sometimes having to pay a marked-up price). Not to mention the advent of pdf books has increased my colleciton of material even further. I also have access to websites like this to turn to for discussion and debate about my favorite hobby. That beats the heck out of trying to find someone in a comic shop that just happens to game to talk to, plus finding someone that I really wanted to talk to in the comic shop...

So, yes, I'd say technology has changed the way I present the game to my group.

I can ask people on message boards questions and read other peoples questions on message boards thus I'm exposed to alot more ideas and it's easier to get rules clarifications.
