How is YOUR Forgotten Realms Different?

Very cool, Dagger.

Should there now be a major river running from the Anauroch Sea (or whatever you've decided to call it) through the Farsea Marshes, the Marsh of Tun and into the Dragonmere?

I think marshes are supposed to be lower areas of land so it's probably the most logical place (although you can probably find an expert in geography/hydrography on these boards who can give you an accurate answer).

Do you have a larger version of that map? If not, I do and I would be happy to forward it to you. The other alternative is a large river through Cormyr but that might have provoked a lot of unpleasant happenings in game!

Yes please forward me a larger version, it would help a lot. :D jameslima at gmail.com

I could always go ahead and just make those lakes or something. It does really need a river, I wonder why I didn't think of that. :)

I've sent eight maps to you (the map you've posted broken into eight separate maps) but from a hotmail account so you might need to check your junk mail.

Please post the results! ;)

Outstanding.....you can have my 5th born.

Thanks... but I have nieces. I'm avoiding the whole "having children" thing (after all, I want to retire in my early 40s and it's only a few years away!).

Nice!

Back when 3.0 was new and SWd20 had just came out I had dreams of the Empire blasting Waterdeep (and other locales) with a bombardment from space with Star Destroyers... followed by a march of Walkers.

Then you should read this (see attached file). It is Book One of what was to be my 3 book Realmsian Dragonstar story hour arc, which might be turning into a 4 book story hour. The story hour originated in the Story Hour forum, but since the crash I've decided to not re-revive it.

Cheers!

Interesting idea Dagger

I always wondered why the Shades tried to melt the Glaciers in the Return of the Arch Wizards trilogy instead of just opening a portal to the Elemental plane of Water

As for my own FR campaign Ive made 2 relatively minor changes

1) NO firearms

2) When the gods returned to planes at the end of the Time of Troubles he placed certain restrictions on them making it so they where only allowed to act within their own Portfolios he also wacked the same restriction on the Chosen. Chosen can only act in ways that help their deities portfolios. For example Elminster is the chosen of Mystra. Mystra is the goddess of Magic not the Goddess of Freedom, Justice and Equality for all. So Elminster may not run around over throwing Tyrants, freeing slaves and liberating the masses if he does AO can strip him of his "chosenhood" for interfering outside his gods portfolio. Several Chosen have found ways of circumventing AOs rule by using proxys

Blackstaff has his Moonstars
Elminster and Storm have the Harpers and the Knights of Myth Drannor
Alustrial has the army and resources of the Silver Marches
The Simbul has the army and resource of Aglarond

All of cause also use the Humble Adventuring party to meet the objectives

This addresses the "Why doesnt Elminster deal with this problem?" question

The only major changed I made....

It still needs a little bit of work...I also need to draw close ups of the islands. One of the larger islands is going to be the seat of the Shade Empire. Also Cormyr has two ports, Ascore has been reopened by Silver Marches, and the Zhents have a port.
So Anauroch is a sea rather than a desert, right? Any other changes I haven't spotted?

glass.
