Too many. I'm not completely sure about how many of my 3.x books are actually from the 3.5 era. It's clear that I bought less and less WotC 3.5 books in the late years, because I didn't really like them anymore. On the other hand, they published more, so the 3.5 years have some kind of headstart. Plus, there are the late Dungeon and Dragon magazines. I have lots of 3rd party books, though.

Physical books, I have about 34, about half that is FR. I didn't really get into 3e as we were doing fine with 2e, then we jumped to 3.5.

I basically just borrowed from friends, only ones I bought would be 3, for very specific reasons:

Player's Handbook 2: For Beguiler
Complete Warrior: For Swashbuckler
Complete Scoundrel: It was book made specifically for my kind of character.

I voted 50-100.

Its probably more- I can't actually count anything since I'm going through a renovation and most of my stuff is packed- but I had tallied 54 that I knew I owned for certain before giving up.

I didn't count my PDFs, but I surprised myself by finding that I have over 30 hardcopy books (counting the monthly Pathfinder issues separately) despite my "restraint." :p PDFs vary in size, etc, but I have several full-length books on PDF, and the PDFs take up more than 4 full CDROMs all put together (a lot of that is free stuff, though).

363 seperate 3rd edition books, plus another 42 imputed books (based upon magazine subscriptions), for a total of 405 books.

This number may rise if I can find some of the remaining titles I am looking for.
