how many are using the new power cards

I will not be using them for a fewreasons.

I One, there are so many fan ones out there that are so good.

TWo, I do not need cards for every power the class can have, I only need cards for the powers this character is using.

Three. Even if I buy the set, how long will it be before a new product prints a power that is not included in the set?

So far I have been sticking the cards printed out from the official character generator. Overall I think the DDI subscription is a better buy.

I don't use 'em mainly 'cos I like to write my hit/dam/other variables on the cards in pen ... so when I get new gear or level or whatever, I just print out new ones and tear up err recycle the old ones.

We are using the Character Builder for character management, which delivers customized Power Cards. I see no use at all for these new Power Cards in our groups.

My cousin said it best: "The Power Cards should have been released with the PHB1 when people were making impulse buys to play the new game, not 6 months later after people crafted their own workarounds, be it DDI, fan made cards, or even index cards."

Index cards. $1.00 a pack, I can write whatever I want on them, and use colored pens or highliters to indicate what type of power they are.

Much cheaper and far more practical when I only need a handful of powers.

Ditto the thoughts on timing for the official cards, the DDI cards, and fan-made templates on the web.

My wife uses the cards from the CB while I prefer grandpa's cards.

For the most part I agree 100% with Dice4Hire. There is zero reason to need them and the CB does it for you (with your exact values). There are however, reasons not to - I can always print more, but if a card gets ruins I'm out of luck; the will quickly become absolute as more material is released. This decision will cost Wizards ... oh well, I guess this is payback for 3.5 .

True!
