How many attacks?

Bummer. Never saw that in a FAQ. We'll probably continue to use it as we've been using it, since it's the weapon and not the person generating the extra attack. Regarding Weapons of Speed anyway.

So if someone has a shortsword of Speed in their off-hand, and they're Hasted, do you allow them to make an extra attack with their longsword (from Haste) and an extra attack from their shortsword (from Speed)?

How many attacks can 20th level ranger with Greater two weapon fighting get in a single round? Is it 7 or is it higher!
If it is 7, then with magical help, what is the most number of attacks that a ranger of this level can have in a single round?

You can get 7 standard attacks. With haste, you get 8. With weapons of speed, you would get 10. If you had Highsword, Low Axe (from Complete Warrior), you would additionally get a free trip attempt for every time you hit with both weapons (up to 5 if you use haste to attack with your off weapon). Each successful trip gives you an extra attack (due to Improved Trip), for a total of 15 attacks. But the circumstances would have to be pretty specific (5 different targets surrounding you, etc.)

I've changed my mind, Darklone. I want this guy to be my DM when I power game.

Noooo sledged, come back! I changed my mind! You can play a giant octopus with 8 attacks and holy sword 3.0 permanencied on all tentacles!

Honestly, reanjr: Weapons of speed don't stack with haste and don't stack (as written) with themselves for additional attacks... whether that makes sense or not see above, but these are the RAW.

I was actually being facetious, giving a wild example of why those don't stack. I apologize for sounding serious.

No, we don't allow it for the spell Haste, but we do if the character dual-wields Weapons of Speed. Yes, it's inconsistent, it's also a house rule not supported by the RAW. We wanted to offer something to sweeten the pot for non-rogue dual wielders, since all of our melee's were using two handed weapons.

We don't worry about abuse since we don't have any munchkins at the table. No Thri-kreens or flying druid pseudopods.
