How Many Boosters/Cases Do You Buy Of Each Set?

The title says it all, how many boosters or cases do you buy of each D&D mini set that is released?

1 Case, 2 Cases, 3 Cases?

Just a couple of boosters?

Do you just buy singles from the second-hand market?

I case (usually) plus 3-6 individual boosters. On some sets I have added to this with a purchase online of singles.

As a couple of months ago I would have happily said none. However, since then, I've spent around $500 on DDM. GRRRRRRRRRRR.............. like I need another stinking habbit. I quit smoking for chrisakes, now plastic crack. Where does it end?

I usually buy 1-2 boosters, then buy at least one of each individual mini from each set through e-Bay stores.

I limit myself to exactly 12 boosters of each set (1 case). If I don't get those must-have singles, I trade for them or buy them on ebay (if you go ebay soon after a set comes out, you'll rarely spend more than $60-80 getting those must-have singles). I saw someone spend $400 buying abberations boosters to get the green dragon in it and it made me set a concrete limit for myself.

It sounds as though your experience matches mine pretty closely Xyanthon. Up until about a month and a half ago I was plasticrack free. Now I have nearly 500 pieces of the addictive things and have a desire to get a hold of quite a few more. Personally I blame the people here at EN World!

I'm interested in seeing, out of the people that buy D&D minis, how many they buy from each set and how they buy them.

But thanks for replying anyway Treebore. And if I were you I would keep my mini purchasing to 0. It's a slippery slope once you get started.

Two boosters or so, plus one starter if its a starter set (for the maps, mostly). I also buy up most of the commons and some of the uncommons on Ebay.

I don't play the minis game but want to use the minis for roleplaying. I find myself right now wanting large numbers of orcs, goblins, skeletons, and the like. All of the mooks. I wish they would just put out sets of just the commons. Oh well, I suppose that is what eBay is for...
