my total pool of players currently contains 5 female and 4 male "regulars", and 2 female and 1 male "occassionals"... The actual campaigns have male/female ratios from 2:2 to 4:2 and 1:2.

We are a pitiful group, these days. Once I played with my three nephews and their friend, and it was good. Then two of my nephews quit, but the friend gained a girlfriend who joined for a few sessions. Alas, she has a baby now, and we play at their apartment where she doesn't have time to participate anymore because someone needs to care for the diaper monster.

So it is the three of us--my nephew, my nephew's friend, and myself--who play at the kitchen table while she takes care of the poop machine. Still, it's not too bad. At least she's involved in the out-of-game conversation.

No girls allowed in our game.

That's really too bad. I know a woman who was never allowed to play when she was younger because "no girls were allowed" and when she recently asked to join her brother's group, was told the same thing. I see no good reason to exclude anyone based on their gender. The women gamers I've known and had the honor of gaming with were far and away the best roleplayers and did more to help build the campaign setting and contribute than nearly any of the guys (there are a couple guys I game with now who are great helps, but the rest of them are leeches who expect me to do everything with no input on their part).

KidCthulhu's group has six women, three guys. Sagiro's has three women, three guys, and mine is currently at two women and five guys (down from its traditional split of 50/50.)

Are some of them she-males or do you just have very large groups?

Was in an old group with a female DM and one other female player, with four male players. In my current one, it's four guys, one girl (my girlfriend, who got interested in gaming by listening to all the gaming stories we told), with one other player's girlfriend doing guest spots anytime she visits. So we're still skewed on the side of the Y chromosome, but we've got at least some variation. So, I voted one, since she's the regular.

Four of Nine.

Three came to game by choice. One because her mother (one of the three) thought it would be fun for her ten year old daughter to play.

As DM I'm happy that all four play as they bring an excellent dynamic to the game.
