5-7 males and one female. Wife of one of the players. I have had as many as three female players, but nearly all of them have "accompanied" one of my male players. I'm certainly not opposed to welcoming female players into the group if we have an opening.

Our regular line-up includes 8 guys, 2 girls. We have visiting players on a fairly regular basis. These are usually guys, but we have had one girl as well.

Varies. If all the people who compose our extended gaming group were in the same room at one time (as opposed to just the subset who might regularly attend any given game), we'd have.. something like 6 girls, 5 guys. Cut out the irregular attendees, and the distribution is still about 50/50 at any given time.

-Never played with a woman in our group.
(I just DMed a few one-shot mini-adventures for my girlfriend but i guess that doesn't counts).

-And none of us has ever created a female character!

It must be fun but dnd isn't that widespread here, and thus female gamers are extremely rare.

My group at school has around 8 people who play on and off, 3 of which are female. At home, our group consists of about 5, 2 of which are girls. I guess that might be a bit odd...but hey, all the better for us!

The first group I played in while in college had a girl named Angela. It was a 1e game, and she played a monk. At least she did until her sorority sisters told her that if she kept playing "that game" she'd be asked to leave good ol' ZTA. The whole sorority folded the next semester, and she transferred schools.

I wonder if she still plays. She was a lot of fun and her own martial arts background made her playing of the monk a blast to witness.

Hm. Well, I'm a girl, and one out of my 3 regular players is a girl, and we've had a female guest come in and play, so I guess it's 2.5 out of 5 people.

Really, I prefer the girls (and Jack, who almost counts) as players. The male contingent, consisting of my boyfriend and another guy, tend to be easily distracted, make inappropriate (out of character) jokes, and like to ignore roleplaying in favor of "kill 'em all!". Girls + Jack get more into the game and are far less disruptive.

Hey, if you want to prove me wrong (and live in the Atlanta area) I'd love to hear from you.

I DM two groups; the first one (refered to as the big campaign) has five players two of whom are female. The other one (Estrogen Campaign) has three players all female. I am not counted....

For more than a few years, we've consistenly had one woman playing with us. First my friend's sister, then his wife (although playing might be stretching the term there), and now my girlfriend. There was a slight overlap between my girlfriend joining and the wife leaving, and theoretically she's still a member but from the amount of work she's put in to changing her workschedule to game with us, I don't expect to see her at the table. Of guys, when everyone shows there's 7 of us (me included), although there's typically one or two absent each session.

Of the guys, only two were members of the group when I joined almost a decade ago.
