How many from your group(s) use ENW?

Maybe we should run a referral campaign. Get one of your gaming group to join up and start posting and get a free month CSA or something.

Hard to determine the real joinees from the fakes, though. Probably wouldn't work.

What exactly is your definition of fake, Morrus?

Do you mean someone hopping onto another name claiming to be a referral, or do you mean someone who gets people outside of their gaming group to sign up? Or something else entirely?

The former. Creating a new account and pretending it's someone else. I've no idea how much that would happen, though.

Wouldn't you be able to see the IP address and notice that?

Well, I imagine that a lot of friends will live close to each other. IP addresses would probably be likely to match or be similar in a lot of such situations.

Besides, I wouldn't want to have to do a manual search on each one! :)

Oh, on a couple other boards I am on, the IP address shows for every single post for admin, letting them see the IP address of a players individual posts without instating a search or anything, hence the question.

Hmmm... I like the idea.

I don't see cheating being worthwile, am I being obtuse?

Every free month the referrer gets, if they are cheating, costs their referred a month cause the new user will have had to sign up for at least that one month, no?

The only downside I see is the return to the highs and lows of a multimonth account cause of all the free months and upfront paid months to earn them.

Though I think if a certain fraction of those new users stay subscribed it's all win.

edit: Oh, I get it. The referred don't have to have a CSA. What about making that a requirement?
