How many games will you run this year?

Let's see.

I will run about 35-40 face to face sessions this year.

I currently run 7 Yahoogroups games, but have no idea how to translate to session but I am clearly above the 50 limit.

In theory I run two sessions a week - same campaign, different parties. Ideally this would represent 104 a year.

In practice, given various missed sessions throughout and a 3-week road trip coming this summer, it'll come in at about 85-90.

I run a weekly game, but given all the usual interruptions, we'll probably only meet 35-40 times in a year.

I play in another game online which was doing about the same, but I just got word from the DM that his hard drive is corrupted and may have eaten all the files; he can't afford to buy a new HD which means he's almost computerless, and so that game has come to a screeching halt for who knows how long...

Game-and-a-half (one every other week) will put me at 75-80 games, barring sickness or travel to Wisconsin.

Well they weren't going to be good campaigns :/

Though seriously I was considering a genre/fortnight at the local gaming shop so I could run a lot of one shot ideas that float around my head - serenty mission, paranoia, Dr who, wild west, steampunk, etc thing I doubted I could sustain for long but could do 1-3 games worth of play for each.

As is, I'll probably end up doing three campaigns proper, and about 80 games counting in for some cancelations and some one offs at cons and the like.

Forum polls are interesting beasts. It only takes two seconds to vote and you don't have to expend any energy formulating a reply.

I admire all of you guys breaking (and seemingly smashing) the 51+ category but for most of us a weekly game normally tops out around the 20's and 30's after holidays and cancellations.

What is interesting so far is the player category... It would suggest that only DMs use RPG websites.

"None, I'm a player" is the closest thing to "None, I'm a 3e gamer in a 4e group".

PbP doesn't really break down into "sessions". I run a couple of campaign online (myth-weavers.com). A Planescape campaign that is in hiatus (players missing) and another set in Forgotten Realms in the year 709, in Menzoberranzan.

Planar Insanity (named for the build parameters) had about 5 active players and Menzoberranzan: a Game of Houses started with 5 PC groups (four noble houses and a merc guild) of 6 players each. As of last count it maintained 23 active players.

I just started to recruit more players for Menzo.
