How many of your D20 Books do you actaully use?

Lets see, we use most of the books we own. I would say that the only ones that don't see much use would be the psionics handbook and manual of the planes. We haven't used epic yet, but that could change eventually. OA and Star Wars are collecting dust at the moment, but that is just because we are playing DnD at the moment.

As to what we do use:
core books, splat books, FR books, living greyhawk.
BOEM I and II.

While we don't own much in the way of non-WotC stuff, that should be changing as I get the money to mail order / buy PDF's of some other D20 bits. I'm waiting till Friday to get the money to buy elements of magic as we speak. :)

Mainly just the usual: PHB DMG MM MMII, although everyone in our group owns one of the class books. Dragon gets used from time to time (i love the swashbucklers from last issue).

I have been the DM in a mostly-greyhawk based campaign. Now I'm starting as a player with a new group, but for now I don't know yet which extras we're going to use (I know we're going to play the Freeport series, ToEE and RttToEE), but basically the DM allows players to use their books.
So about our old campaign (me as a DM):

RULEBOOKS (on-session and out-session)

- obviously PHB, DMG and MM are used extensively every session
- Book of Challenges was very useful for a lot of ideas

RULEBOOKS (out-session mostly)

- Tome & Blood was used for some NPCs, extra spells, other good ideas here and there, and new feats (I made all available)
- Defenders of the Faith was used for churches and RP ideas and new feats, which were very very appreciated
- Masters of the Wild was used for explanations and several feats
- Enemies & Allies was a very good support for me, although I mostly changed at least something in every NPC
- Hero Builder's Guidebook (although awful) has proven somehow useful to beginner players in the sections about alignment, character background tables (but not randomly used) and names

ADVENTURES

Well, plenty :) almost all coming from WotC and including the free web adventures.

MOSTLY UNUSED

- Manual of the Planes: my favourite book, but I used only a couple of monsters, I didn't want to "spoil" planar advventures with low-level PCs :)
- Sword & Fist
- Song & Silence
- (Mongoose) Necromancy/Chaos Magic/Chronomancy: all very nice but maybe too complicated to use yet (and I really dislike introducing new core classes)
- Quintessential Wizard: plans to use it soon
- Book of Vile Darkness: just bought

MOST WANTED :)

- Traps & Treachery: that's a book I should have definitely bought before, I believe it'd be of great use. Unfortunately I'm not DM now, and that prevents me from buying it at the moment

The WOTC-core and splatbooks see use at every session I DM. The Manual of the Planes and Deities & Demigods is used semi-frequently.

Magic of Faerun and the Books of Eldritch Might also see a lot of use as sources for spells, and I've had two Monte-sorcerers in my group.

The Slayer's Guide-books from Mongoose has been helpful when planning campaigns and encounters.

My most used monster collections have been Monster Manual, Scarred Lands Creature Collection I, Manual of the Planes, Monsters of Faerun and Monster Manual II, in that order. (The MM2 is last on this list, only because I havn't had it very long, and thus havn't seen much use yet. I expect it to climb fast!)

Can't remember anything else that sees regular use, other than being lifted for the odd crunchy bit...

Edit: Forgot the Book of Vile Darkness! I've DMed four sessions since I got it, and used it for every one of them!

None at the moment we have gone back to a 2ed campaign.... hold on tell a lie I used the DMG to design a magic item for my avatar the other day.

I probably don't and/or haven't used 30-40% of my books, which considering that I get lots of swag I don't pick out myself, is pretty good.

I keep a crate full of books that I think are important enough that I think I will use them nearly every game. This includes the core books, Psionics HB, Creature Collection II, MMII, and Relics & Rituals. I also have a number of PDFs and apps on my laptop that get used frequently, like the Book of Eldritch Might and Wild Spellcraft. The players often use the splats and the mongoose books at the beginning of the session, but I usually shelf my copies before I start unless I have a feature NPC using one of the prestige classes.

I usually have 3-5 "guest stars" per session, frequent entrants in this category include CCI, Legions of Hell, Manual of the Planes, Book of Vile Darkness, Mercenaries, various splats, Encycloadia arcanes, or quintessential books, or green ronin boks. I expect some new books I just got like Tome of Horrors will soon join this category.

When I run OA, I typically use OA, Creatures of Rokugan, Rokuagan, Jade & Steel, Jade Dragons & Hungry Ghosts, and Beyond Monks.

Finally, a few books I use as design tools, like EA Constructs and Monster's Handbook.

Nice to see both the R&R books and the CC books are getting some use. :) Course I'm still waiting to use Legions and Armies just yet...but I'm sure they'll come soon enough.
