How many of your D20 Books do you actaully use?

I endeavor to use everything I buy, so out of the about sixty supplements I've got, I've used some 70%. Most of the stuff I haven't been able to use are adventures. They're a bit tricky, since the party has to be of a correct level, and the adventure has to be seamlessly integrated in the campaign.

Re: books you use

so . . . what other SL goodies are you aware of?:D

More than you can imagine. ;)

(But probably not as much as Clark since he's got the better "pipeline" so to speak.)

Btw Jeff just remember you can always write more d20 stuff! ;)

PH, DMG and MM -- used a lot, this got without saying.
Creature Collection 1 -- two of the critters have been already met by my PCs, and they will definitely meet at least 2 others.
Monsters of Faerûn -- Has seen use also, especially by my brother (who's our FR DM).
FRCS -- heavily used.
Psionics Handbook -- frequently used also.
Relics & Rituals -- several spells and magic items have seen uses.
Magic of Faerûn -- used frequently.
Manual of the Planes -- one of the least used in game, but was much useful for shaping my world's cosmology.
Tome & Blood -- spells and prestige class has been used, as well as some magic items.
Deities & Demigods -- probably the least used book I have, although I plane on using the faun.
Faiths & Pantheons -- not much used, but the background bits are nice for our FR DM, as we don't have the 2e books.
Seas of Blood -- not much used for now, but we're supposed to become all pirates in one of our campaign, so it will be used.
Creature Collection 2 -- will see some use, much to my player's dismay, hehehe.
Oriental Adventure -- is actually under heavy use, as we're about to play 10th-level characters in an OA campaign !

I've tried to list them in the order I've bought them.

Books I don't own, but I can get access to them (and from which, sometimes, I borrow one tidbit or another, but usually nothing) includes the other splatbooks of WotC, the Quint. Fighter, Librum Equitis 1, Books of Eldritch Might 1 & 2, Rokugan, Magic of Rokugan, Monsters of Rokugan, and Lords of Darkness. The player who own S&F and DotF has made use of some spells from DotF, after having got the tacit agreement from the DM (who said "these books are too expensive, I won't buy any, however, just in case there's something worthy in it, I allow players to use the material from a book they buy"). Our FR DM was happy when a friend of him lend him the LoD, but except for the updated background, it has seen no use (especially given that it's back to its legitimate owner).

If they weren't so expensive, I would be interested in the BoVD and the MM2.

I use the three core books, all of my many monster books, and the Pocket Arcanas by Green Ronin during most gaming sessions. However, I use probably 75% of the books I own (around 40 titles) in designing adventures and worlds. I search far and wide to get the info I want or need and I frequently return to the same books over and over, but I don't bring them to the game table.

I never use them, as I keep talking about playing again, but have only played once in the last year. Of course, that doesn't stop me from having around 75 d20 books, on top of the hundreds I have from earlier versions.

That said, I do use them as entertaining reading. (I remember AV commenting on people like me when 3E first came out, and how WOTC had made the decision to take a lot of the non-crunch out of their products because there were not enough of me). I'm close to playing again, but with two small children, it's not easy (of course, I've been close to playing again since 3E was launched).

I try to use a little bit of every book I have, but I end up only using around 40% of my collection.

The books I crack the most tend to be:

The 3 core books (duh..)
Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting
Oriental Adventures
Faiths and Pantheons
Magic of Faerûn
Book of Vile Darkness
Star Wars d20 Revised
Dungeon/Polyhedron
Sword and Fist
Song and Silence
Stronghold Builder's Guidebook
Kingdoms of Kalamar Player's Guide
Call of Cthulhu d20
Delta Green and Delta Green: Countdown
