I put on counter on these boards to count the number of unique visitors (as opposed to hits or page views). It's not connected to the main site in any way (which would get much higher figures).
It counts unique IPs, which means that those with dial-ups will affect the figure, as will those who share IPs (those on networks, sharing computers, in the same office etc.).
But, anyway - the counter has been there 5 days. In those 5 days over 31,000 unique IPs visited these boards. The number gets less every day (obviously), but it's still regstering high figures each day. Eventually it'll drop to near zero, which means pretty much everyone will have been counted.
So - with about 6,000 registered members, it's pretty obvious that the vast majority of people who use these boards are lurkers. If you're a lurker - register an account and post here to say hello!
