How many times doe sthe Templar Smite?

Okay it says that the templar gains the smite ability at level two and and additional use at level 7. However in the second paragraph it says that if your already have the smite ability from Destruction domain or from being a paladin u may use that smite one extra time per day and two extra times per day at level 7. Are they just restating that you can use all three smites or does the prestige class in addition to the 2/day fro beign templar also grant an additonal 2/day for paladin or Destruction domain?

Before taking this class you will have X amounts of smites. THen at levels two and seven you get an additional, smite. So, at level 7 you have X+2. Granted, the smites may be a little different depending on how they are individually defined.
