How much BAB is a feat worth?

How much should a feat increase BAB?

I would never allow feats to grant BAB. Levels in classes is the only way to get BAB, end of story. From PrC requirements to multiple attacks, there are countless reasons why there is a distinction between BAB and all other attack bonuses.

D+D was not designed to be a completely modular system.

Meh, at higher levels it doesn't seem like it would break much. For instance:

Veteran of Battle [Fighter, General]
Prerequisite: BAB: +16
Benefit: Your Base Attack Bonus improves by 1.
Special: You may take this feat multiple times. Each time the prerequisite is raised by 4 (so BAB: +20, then +24, then +28, etc).

For non-fighters it IS epic, though it is sub-epic for characters with +1 BAB. Also it doesn't break much because they've already maxed their attacks.

Two feats to cost 1 BAB seems about right. .5 BAB per level also conveniently matches Mage BAB progression.

I can think of a few Mages who'd love to sell off a few BAB for some Feats.
Planning to slide this into a point-buy scheme?

Same here.

Given the existence of Epic Prowess (the Epic feat that gives +1 to attacks, effectively increasing BAB by +1), and the principle that an Epic feat should be worth about two regular feats, I'd say the Jester has it right. 2 feats for +1 BAB. I also like the justification of saying this repesents one for +1 melee and one for +1 ranged, that's quite clever. :)
