How much school knowledge does Detect Magic give?

Detect Magic, after three rounds and a successful Spellcraft check, will reveal the aura (school) around a magic item.

I've never noticed, or heard of, whether it reveals spell descriptors (good, evil, healing, sonic, etc.) as well as the school. For example, if a character cast detect magic of a potion of cure light wounds and succeeded the Spellcraft check, would the character know it was a faintly magical conjuration potion, or a faintly magic conjuration(helaing) potion?

I don't know if there is an official rule saying otherwise, but so far, I have seen it done and handled it myself as "school only, no descriptor". This adds some reluctance to use potions you just found in an adventure. Chances are that conjuration magic indicates a healing potion, but you can never be sure;)

Of course, if a DM feels more generous, he could also give the descriptor. But AFAIK it is not part of the school.
