How much time do you spend on RPGs?

Actual game prep:

4 hours of prep for every hour of gaming on average.

Reading, web surfing, checking, thinking...

*WAY* to much. 2 - 4 hours a day?

Lets see...

5 hours a week of game time
5 hours a week of game prep
10 hours a week on game related forums (including one I run for my group)
10 hours a week working on one of my two homebrews

That is about 30 hours. It was a great deal more (time spent making player handouts, new character sheets, and so forth) but I've cut it back a bit since I started playing Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided. Now if we want to count SWG as "role playing" (which it sorta is) that would be another 4 hours a night through the week and maybe 12 hours on the weekend, or 32 more hours.

I sleep 4 hours a day through the week, 10 on the weekend.

Counting ENWorld, I'd say I spend... hm... about forty hours a week on gaming or game-related stuff, maybe more.

Yep, I'm a true blue gaming geek, all right.

Generally, I read adventures or write stuff for my campaign setting for about 4 hours each night at work, so thats 20 hours a week. My new group should be starting up soon, so add an extra 4 hours for the session and 4 hours for prep and thats 28 hours a week, but I guess thats not too bad since I get paid for most of those hours

Time spend on my "self- and others-publishing" notwithstanding...

On average (sometimes none, sometimes much more):
3-4 hours a week prep-time (including house rule design...)
3-4 hours a week game time
4-5 hours a week on RPG-related boards

If we'd game more often it would be much more prep- and game-time obviously. But that won't happen... wish I (and everybody else in my group) were 17 again... :(

I run a Supers game every Friday night and that is about 6 hours. The prep time for each week's game is about 1 (or maybe more depending on the complexity). Every Wednesday night we play a game for about 4 hours. Since we take turns running 6 week adevntures for different genres when I run something that is some added work. So on average - so far we are looking at 11 hours per week.

Add in some reading, thinking and exploring different ideas and a variety of things, add in about 3 more hours.

Then I do lots of wargaming (painting, playing, etc.) and that is an extra 5 hours if you count that.

So we are looking at a low end of 14 hours and a high end of 22 or so.
