If you're asking which PCs have been raised at least once, 10% is a good estimate. But if you're asking what percentage of deaths have been reversed by magic, it's somewhere above 90%.

In my group it tends to be the more fragile characters who get killed, and they tend to die multiple times over the course of their careers. Some of them die with embarrassing frequency-- like the poor bard back in 3.0, who at one point suffered three deaths in as many sessions. But the tougher PCs usually manage to retire without dying even once.

None. They like to stay dead. Don't ask me why.

As a player, one of my PCs just got Reincarnated. Went from handsome Elf to furry Bugbear. Technically a big power-up, but ... ewww, Bugbear.

I had a character in a campaign that died, and all the other characters wanted to bring him back to life because they thought they needed his help. In this home-brew campaign, bringing characters from the dead is no easy task. Since the DM likes this to be a low resurrection type campaign, this was a very serious task. The PCs accomplish everything required, a cleric goes through the ritual and nothing happens. The character didn't want to come back. The other players were upset. (I laughed). :p

I need an option of less than 10%. ;) In our group the GMs will usually fudge the rules to prevent actual death, rather than deal with raising/resurrecting a character. We usually have a metaplot going and PC death would mess things up.

I've only had one PC die in 10 years of gaming, and she was immediately raised because she died practically at the feet of Mystra's avatar.

10%.

I think the reason the numbers are so low is because a lot of people are playing at lower levels.

THe problem with raise and res as others alluded to is once your high level characters can get raised over and over and over again. So while 30 of your low level characters never got raised...there was that one high level guy that got raised 10 times.

It is less than 10% but since that is the lowest option, I chose that one.

Interesting thread, as I now realize that most of the groups I have been in over the years rarely chose the raise/resurrect option. Huh.

Depends on how economical it is and that, of course, will depend on what level you are. Characters above 10th level will almost certainly make use of resurrection magic, decreasing rapidly the lower you go from there.

It's very rare the character who can make it into the high teens without having died at least once...
