There were times when a player just didnt gel with our group and I just said, "Sorry this isnt working out, its not you, its me and I dont think we should play together anymore".

And that what happened to that group in the end. I don't think the player understood why. There were other OOG issues that reared about the same time as the game exploded.

Yeah I should have listed the Paladin at LG, It was 3.5, before paladins had potentially other alignments.

Most of the times I dont encourage PC on PC crime but looking at the party alignments from a roleplaying standpoint Im surprised the party didnt turn on him themselves.

Unfortunately I have had this happen as well. It was at a time when I was playing mostly with people the I recruited off of meetup and there were alot of personality conflicts so I just gave up after while. I eventually got the old band back together.

The game was supposed to be no evil and no PvP action. Other than a quiet word with the DM there wasn't much to do and it's the DM's world. If these actions are cool there (the DM seemed uncomfortable with the actions, but unwilling to take a stand), it's hard to argue a case.

Oh well, live and learn and move on I guess. Too bad sounds like it couldve been a fun campaign.

It's unfortunate when this kind of things happen, in many cases it's not any one person's fault. It's why I've gotten to the point when recruiting new players or setting up a campaign that I have a social contract that I expect from people. I also make it clear that it's no one's fault if you join my campaign and it doesn't work for you. Different people play for different reasons.

As I alluded to in my other post, when I post on meetup* I have a link to campaign expectations. Things like no evil characters, don't play a jerk or a loner, expect to be heroes not gangsters.

I've had to kick a couple of people (like the guy who literally thought he was a werewolf), but it's worked out in the end.

*Moving to a different state sucks sometimes, and getting the old group back together was not an option.

What's wrong with that?

Okay, it was how he scratched behind his ear that bugged me. I mean, you're in someone else's house and taking off your shoes? At least he could have clipped his nails first!
