D&D 5E How reusable have you found the AP's?

I have gotten the most mileage out of Princes of the Apocalypse. I think I'm on my fourth campaign group with it now, rivaled only by the starter set which I think I have run five times, and played in about three.

I'm still playing in OOtA, so can't comment to it. I only ran Strahd once, and the group fell apart about 1/3 in. I am still reading STK but, like Princes of Apocalypse, I think I will get a lot out of it. We also never finished the original storyline, as that group also ended before we finished book 1. I actually have too many adventures to run, a nice problem.

My group hasn't finished ToD yet. I could totally run it for another group, I'd change some stuff up but that's D&D.
Got my money's worth.

Unfortunately, I have not used any of the adventures. My playing group does not seem well suited for the AP. However, I have still purchased all of them as I feel the additional materials (races, spells, magic items, NPC) are very useful to my game. I am still inspired by the material for my current campaigns.

I own Princes, Abyss, & Strahd.
I consider ive gotten my $s worth - even though to date I haven't used any of them.... But I will.:)

Princes - I was intending to use it last year but then play went a completely different direction. So eventually.

Abyss was "free" via Amazon pts. At the time we were 11 lvs into an underdark campaign (the night below) so no-one was really in the mood for more underdark. But like I said, I got it essentially free. So it can sit on my shelf until I need it.

Strahd? I bought that one fully intending to launch it in Oct. But one of the other guys I play 5e with also bought it. And REALLY wanted to DM it right away. Ok, I'll just use it sometime with the other group I play in (PF). It'll just be awhile as we're in the middle of an AP.....

Storm King? It's on the Christmas list. Might be a while before I run it though....

Hoard/Rise? Dont own, not interested. We just finished a dragon/Tiamat heavy campaign a few months before 5e landed. So like Abyss, interest in a very similar campaign was at about 0%.

As for reusability? I'm sure there's plenty in there I can work with. I mean, I'm the guy who's gotten 30 years use out of The Forest Oracle....

I've not considered running any of them other than Strahd despite owning them all. I have Forgotten Realms Rage Disorder. I've used small pieces that were easy to move to my own world, though. I'm indifferent about getting good value out of them given that they are in a setting I hate but have some useful tidbits in them. Okay, I guess I would say I've gotten value out of them, specifically Out of the Abyss and Rise of Tiamat (mainly for the stat blocks from the demon lords and Tiamat).

I haven't gotten around to re-using them yet, my group is still running through PotA (our game is every other week for about four to six hours a session). However, I have already scanned a few of the maps for reuse. The manor in LMoP is a great map to reuse. As is the Stone Monastery in PotA. I'll have to change up some of the interior features, but that's no problem.

Ask me again in 7 to 15 years when I'm running 6E and 7E campaigns. I'll probably be able to tell you "Oh yeah, I inserted X section of Y AP into this other campaign I'm currently running."

Same way I could tell you right now "Oh yeah, I inserted 3Es Sunless Citadel into my 5E Hoard of the Dragon Queen that I ran. First time I used SC since I ran it the first time in 3E, but it worked beautifully for what I needed." ;)
