M mrswing Explorer Mar 13, 2007 #41 My line of thinking too. Remove stat bonuses magical items, and you are rid of the 'generic' magical item curse. Every item the PCs find/have made/craft can be a unique item. Thus putting the 'magic' back into magic items!
