I'm with Jester on this one, even if we seem to be on opposite sides of the "Mage Umbrella" debate. Next is showing some promise in this latest packet, though it still has some problems (boring Humans is a prime example). I'm eager to see the next packet to see where they are now. Even if I don't like it as much as 4E when it releases, I may end up switching anyway, just to get my 3E-loving friends back on board with the game. Besides, it's not as if I despised 3E at its core--it's just that I didn't feel like houseruling out all the problems I had with it.Depends who you ask.
I think it shows potential but it depends on their balancing and follow through with promised modularity.
