HQ: The 'Ready Lounge'

"Yes, I do believe that a creature is redeemable no matter what evil it has done. But it must WANT redemption. Actions, not words, will prove the truth of the matter though long years it may take. Merlin for example, was never what one could call completely honest. Yet his actions served the greater good. Or at least his intentions did. That which his actions begat we shalt not discus this day..."

OOC: Paladin's adventure was The Antique Roadshow adventure.

Gus seems to relax a bit when he hears this reply. There is a pause, and he chews his lip with ragged teeth as he thinks about what Arthur said.

"That is making sense."

"However, I am noticing a plural on your deities. Is redemption not associated with a single god in waking world?"

"Sergeant Patrick O'Connor" The door open and a man in teh fifty wearing a grey trenchcoat enter the place. "Hi Paladin. How are you." He walks up to the bar and take a glass in which he put a cube of ice. He then take a bottle. "Bushmill 10 years. Not bad." He takes a glass of whiskey and go to sit down. He then takes a quick look at the other in the room.

"Hi, welcome to the Resolute... I suppose you are new here. I must tells we are all pretty green in that orgnization."

Sitting up and looking deep into the eyes of his newest teammate, Paladin explains. "Mr. Scares, this current world is not my place, or perhaps it is better to say that it is not my time. And in my place and time, we had many different customs and faiths than now. A God of good, yes. But also gods for the sun, for the dark, for the harvest, or Herne the Hunter in the deep forests. So yes, my deities are plural, but as I said before, redemption can only come from within. Redemption given by some god on high is not redemption earned, my dark friend."

Turning to Sargent as he enters, Paladin raises his own drink like a toast and nods in greetings. "Welcome, Sergent! I was just regaling our dark teammate Mr. Scares with tales of our latest adventure and also getting to know the lady Nimbus. Art thou rested and refreshed enough now to partake of another mission perchance?"

Sergeant raise his glass and takes a sip before answering. "I'm no more twenty, and those revenant hit solidely. If I had the health of Avatar, I would have been on shape quickly, but that's the lot of not being a Super like you. But it wouldn't be the first time I must go on a case before I got enough rest... how many times I had to delay my vacation because of the great stupidity of humankind in the small scale of my life."

Nimbus smirks a little at Mr. Scares and Paladin. "Some people like to make you think there's a single god. But there's plenty of other ways, and plenty of other gods out there."

She nods to O'Conner as Paladin introduces her. "Pleasure to meet you, Sergeant."

Mister Scares nods to Nimbus and Paladin. "I am sorry, time is different for sleepers than wakers. Was believing that King Arthur is Abraham Lincoln's fencing partner. Is confusing." He might be kidding about that last bit, but it's hard to tell.

"Is good, knowing that wakers are not all believing same thing. Television not quite telling me truth."

"Sergeant!" exclaims Mister Scares to the newcomer. His accent is Russian folk tales and Hammer horror films rolled together. "Is good to be meeting you. I am Gustav Makesbabiescry."

Gus' manner is friendly, but as he turns to the Sergeant, his skins darkens to an inhuman blackness, and his features become indistinct. He resembles a figure in the shadows of an alley. For a second, steel seems to gleam in his hand.

This passes after a second, Gus returning to his usual pallor with a jovial grin still on his face.

"Please to meet you." replies Sergeant to Gustav. Sergeant doesn't seems to react to the dark sight Mr Scares offered him.

"You are talking about belief. I stay out of that discussion in that case." Sergeant takes out his PDA and start to play with it, looking at some information he had stored on him. After a moment, he tells to Paladin. "That's really annoying, they havn't been able to remove Relic's mask yet. If we could find a way, we could get rid of one source of danger."

OOC: Gus isn't actually trying to scare anyone. His body and psyche are both set up to scare people, though, so the morphs are automatic. He can stop it, if anyone reminds him to. Most of the time he doesn't notice it's happening.
