HQ: The 'Ready Lounge'

"You did quite a job in Irak. When it count, you seems in perfect control. I think it is more a self-confident problem about your power than anything." replies Sergeant who sits down at the table. He takes a sip of his whiskey before he start to write down something again.

"I think just practice. I reciently learn to sense mind energy more, and that help control," Monique says. "I also learn to disrupt that a bit, though first time I do that it was chaos."

As if to demonstrate, she looks at Seargent for a second, who feels like he's getting hit with a bad case of ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), but only for a moment. "I think it be useful in field."

"Oh damned... I feels like I had was drunk for a moment..." he stares at his glass of whiskey "I think I wont finish it finally. And please, next time, i'll trust you, I like to keep my head clear and for myself."

"Sorry," Monique says, blushing a bit. "I just like to practice. I did not invade or read though. Your mind safe."

Paladin stands and approaches to join the conversation with Seargent and Psyren. "Greetings to you Lady Psyren. I hope your trip was productive as well as enjoyable? It seems that there is more trouble afoot in the world." He indicates with a nod of his head towards the crowd of newer recruits leaving for a briefing.

"It seems dat for every person dat wants ta use there power for good, there is two who don't...and twice as many dat just want us all ta be locked up...and da later seem ta have giant robots.

"Human nature. If you,ve done a bit of philosophy, you must know teh case of teh invisible ring. In a society with rules, law and consequence of breaking it, most people will be honest. Give him a ring of invisibility, so he cannot be caught for sure for what he does (that was in antiquity, where fingerprint and DNA didn't exist) and you'll see how good is the morality of the average people. It is surprising.

What happen, it is that meteor have fallen and explode into many ring of invisibility."

Enter: Flux

The entrance speakers crackle to life as they blurt out a garbled mess that sounds like it might be "Flux." The doors retract to reveal a short, lanky young Caucasian woman. She appears to be in her early to mid-twenties, with ice-blue eyes and dark hair cascading down her back like a rain of obsidian. She wears a standard-issue two-toned Resolutes jumpsuit, black on the outside, blue on the inside.

Her arms are stretched out in front of her, bearing a pair of cardboard pizza boxes. Steam leaks out the edges. A 12-pack of Dr. Pepper floats next to her at head level. Blue-violet strands of electricity orbit the box (which seems to be surrounded by heat ripples), as similar bolts arc back and forth between her eyes.

The young woman twists her hand down awkwardly underneath the pizza boxes so she can wave to the assembled crowd. "Howdy. She half trots, half stumbles her way over to the nearest table, sets down the pizzas, and then makes a half-hearted gesture downwards. Another bolt of electricity crackles briefly around her hand as the box of sodas floats gently down onto the table. With her hands finally free, she reaches down behind her and tugs on something a couple times as she mutters "...supposed to be this tight? Doesn't exactly leave much to the imagination. And would it have killed them to give it pockets..."

She turns back towards the assembled Resolutes and waves her hand over the table. "I was gonna get something to eat in the cafeteria on my way up anyway, so I figured, what the heck...anyway, have at." She rips open the box, grabs a can of soda, pops it open, and takes a swig. Then she flips open one of the pizza boxes, grabs a slice, and chows down. "Just cheese - hope that's ok..."

Then she flops down onto the nearest couch, leaning on the arm rest as her head darts back and forth, taking in the room. "Wow. Can't believe I'm really here. I'm a freaking superhero." She takes another swig. "I had a friend who was an EMT, so I think I know how this works. We kick back in this awesome rec-room, soaking up salary and video games, until a call comes in. Then we drop everything and run off to go save the world. Am I close?"
