HQ: The 'Ready Lounge'

"Oh, don't give up yet Martin!" Sierra exhorts, conjuring up a new microphone, "That was just a bad microphone--try this one."

*Martin finds that with the new microphone in place, he has perfect pitch and sounds excellent.*

Carrion proceeds to sing a pitch-perfect version of "Africa," followed by "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor. Finishing off his set, Martin sits down in his chair and looks over to Sierra.

"Well, this is fun. Anyone else want a turn?"

"Ok, but only one... we used to sing that one in my platoon when we had to change our mind and laugh a bit of ourselves. I don't tell you it was totally private and we would never had sung that in front of another platoon." CPU search throught the repertoir and choose 'In the Navy' of village people.

The performance of CPU was worth to be recorded and pass in the bloopers section of American idole. "Now, do you understand why I don't sing?"

"Well, at least you tried, Cedric, right? That's better than we can say for George. Can't get better if you don't try."

*The orchestra members give each of Martin and Cedric a round of applause.*

"I guess I'll try something now. I've been working on some new songs, but I don't know how good they are..."

*Sierra sings a haunting melody, her voice soft and a bit eerie at first, but slowly drifting towards a lighter and more soothing sound. It is clear that she knows how to sing, at least a little, but there are still areas where she could pretty clearly improve.*

*The orchestra clap a bit, but much less enthusiastically than they did for the others.*

"So, how did I do?"

"Very nice, you might want to speak with Psyren. She is a famous lead singer of France... I can't remember her name... let me check..." Cedric doesn't move but seems to oncentrate a moment "...here it is... sorry, I was on the net for a moment. Her name is Monique De Lorme, Psyren is her stage name. You migth have heard of her. I am sure she would be better place than us to give you advice. But I can tell there is a lot of potential there."

"Siren you say? Or was it Psyren with a psi? Interesting, I shall have to look her up. Anyway, is anything interesting going to happen here? If not, I'll just have to head out and find something fun to do for the moment."

"Psyren... with a P. She is a telepath, I havn't meet her yet, but she is a member of teh Resolute now. I cross her in the hall when I was going to the briefing room. She must be gone into mission by now, if she isn't training."

"P, S, Y, R, E, N. Look like a contraction of Psionic, for her telepath power, and Siren, like the so beautifull voice mythic creature, most likely related to her singer skills. If you go downtown, it will be without me... I am tired and I just want to relax... and I am working on some component for the project I am in... I will lose the link with my eprosnal computer if I exit the buidling and I won't be able to deliver my component in time." tells Cedric.

"Ah, that's an interesting way to spell it. I really should study linguistics some day. Well, it's been fun guys," Sierra waves and heads out. The orchestra, luxurious trappings, and karaoke equipment vanish as she waves, leaving the old normal waiting room.
