My RSS reader picked this up, but it looks like a mistake... When I click the link, it says the article isn't live yet and sends me back to the main page. For once, this is actually great timing, as I'm starting a game in a couple weeks with a player whose concept requires a hybrid Ranger/Warlord.

This has been on the editorial calendar for a few days. It's scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday the 27th). When it first popped up on the calendar, it was scheduled for earlier than that but got pushed back, which of course caused a bit of an uproar at the Wizards forums. I don't regularly visit the Wizards forums, so I only caught a small wave of that backlash . . . personally, I'm excited about it coming up tomorrow. From what I gathered, it should have some tweaks to the hybrid classes released before, plus it should have hybrid versions of a couple PH2 classes.

You should be able to get it from the direct link here or atleat it worked for me.

There are now hybrid classes for all the PHB2 classes, as well as swordmage. There seems to be some tweaking of hitpoints and surges as well.

The major change seems to be the Hybrid Talent Feat which allows you to unlock class features from one of your classes. They now specify whichfeatures you can unlock . For example Fighters Combat Superiority, Armour Proficiency or Combat talent. You seem to able to pick the feat multiple times to unlock other features.

There is also an option for a Paragon Hybrid rather than taking a Paragon path.

Cheers for the linkage... some people are so clever with teh intarwebs!

EDIT: the paragon hybrid (rather than paragon path) gives you Hybrid Talent feat even if you already have it.... that is nice cos that feat is awesome!

And i still says no support in the Char Build, I hope that is a mistake!
"The D&D Insider Compendium and D&D Character
Builder will not support hybrid characters at this
time."

I am really glad they are showing the PHB2 (and Swordmage) Classes in the Hybrid Characters article that was what I was mainly hoping for. It is going to be lots of fun come June 2nd when I can mess around with these in the Character Builder as well.
