I ain't buying a thing from WotC...

Both Savage Species and Arms and Equipment guide have had other books that might be similiar, but until we actually see the focus it's impossible to say if they really compair.

Well, I doubt the Arms & Equipment Guide will include a giant egg-beater, so right off the bat that should tell you it's worth picking up. ;)

Well, at the VERY least, I'm getting Savage Species, Arms and Equipment, Ghostwalk, and Dragonlance... I may or may not get the revised core books... probably leaning towards "not", at least for the MM... The players book I may, depending... if the revised core classes make it to the SRD, no. If they don't, I might. I dunno.

Let's examine the core books thing.

They are not a reprint they are a revision, they are in their thrid reprint now.

Every splat book introduced rules that WotC stated replaced the rules in the core books so you can almost garuntee that those rules will be in the revised core rulebooks. Also I hate the layout of the DMG and the chapter on adventuring is far to slim. The rules for playing monster character are almost non-existant and contradictory where they do exist. I can't wait for the revised edition books.

As far as the campaign specific stuff, you're right I won't buy that. Probably won't buy much from WotC except the core books because I split my money evenly between WotC and other d20 publishers.

I'm interested in getting Savage Species.
As far as Races of Faerun being campaign specific, I don't see why it has to be. New ideas are new ideas. I did not play Forgotten Realms in 2E and I don't play it in 3E either. I do, however, own the FRCS, Magic of Faerun, and F&P. I'm going to get Races of Faerun to go with them. They are beautiful books with pretty high production value, and I can steal the ideas for my own stuff, or simply use them as inspiration.
Not buying something because it's for a specific setting is backwards thinking IMO. If it was drastically different from what you were running I could understand though.

I will get all of them. Not only are the supplements what I expect of WOTC, Its what I want and expect of them. I will get all the revised books too.

I totally agree with you there. However, there are several d20 pulishers that are moving up on my quality list (Particularly Malhavoc and Green Ronin). If you're a Monte Cook fan (like me) than you'll probably be looking forward to Arcana Unearthed...

Shadowlight,

Thanks for the link! Hadn't seen that yet.

It's been forever since I read the novels, but I was most interested to see that Monte's giants are based less on traditional D&D giants and more on those appearing in Steven R. Donaldson's "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant."

Cool. :D

Of all of the proposed releases (and thanks to Derek for posting all that!) I will probably get Dragonlance, and MAYBE the Revised books. That's plenty, and it will give me some breathing room for the first half of 2003. I'm already awaiting Book of Hallowed Might, and Cry Havoc when Skip Williams is ready with that.
