The last scene at the end of the Japanese movie was more disturbing though.

Enchantress, you are not alone.

I have read the script to the original Japanese film. It has me so freaked out, that I can't bring myself to watch the film yet. When I do though, I think I'll see the Japanese original first... in the daytime... with all the lights on...

I wouldn't call you a wuss either, that movie was one of the best horror flicks I've seen in a long time. I glad I had the change to catch it on the big screen, in a really dark movie theatre! I loved then ending, had a great Lovecraftian, 'You are all so screwed' type ending!

It's one of those love it or hate it films, isn't it?

I consider it the standard by which I know who I can talk with about horror movies.

Those people that did not like it have their horror opinions ignored.

Those people that liked it are at least given a chance.

It has worked out pretty well in conversations.

Blair Witch is definately on my top ten list of horror films, although
it's also a film that one really should see in the theatre. It looses
a lot in the transition to the small screen.

Doesn't have much rewatch value either. But man, it gave me
chills when I saw it the first time.

I think a lot of people's problem with the film is not the film itself,
but much rather the hype surrounding it.

You ignore everyone who didn't like it, so how would you know if you agree or not with their opinions?

Oh, wait, I never even saw BW, I thought it looked... I dunno how I thought it looked, I just wasn't interested.

So where does that put me?

The Blair Witch Project was alright, but nothing spectacular. I'll give the PR and media types who pushed the movie an 'A' for effort, though... trying to play it off as a real documentary added a lot to the suspense factor to the people it fooled when it first hit theaters. For all the others, it was was less exciting.

The best scene of the movie had nothing to do with horror, however. When Mike finally confessed to ditching the map (It was useless! I kicked that ****** into the creek! Hahaha!), I totally cracked up. That was golden.

EDIT: Perhaps the film should be given a bit more acknowledgement than 'alright'... I think my main beef stems from something Viking already mentioned - it isn't very captivating during repeat viewings.

Once their view on BWP is clear- I just don't discuss horror with them.

So where does that put me?

It puts you where most internet posters are- of passing interest.

I try not to bother to recall the personal views of people who I don't know- regardless if I agree with them or not.
