As do I. Sorry for the loss. The picture kind of tells the story, makig this kind of a dumb question, but were the kids close to her?

Maxine was a very gentle giant, and the kids loved her. She would literally allow the children to climb all over her, pull, poke, prod, and never even bat an eyelid.

I am still in a little bit of shock over it. It was sudden and completely unexpected. Humane Society vet says (albeit without any sort of autopsy) that it was likely some sort of blockage or bloat as they call it... something very common in giant breed dogs like Great Danes.
